An Alabama "Christian" author robbed a movie theater than claimed the Freemasons made him do it;

QuoteA Christian author who writes about New World Order and spiritual enlightenment seemingly took a dark turn when he donned a mask and robbed a Hoover movie theater at gunpoint in broad daylight, police said today.

The robber was captured when a theater manager tackled him, and he was detained by the manager and a nearby Good Samaritan until lawmen arrived. Hoover police today announced a first-degree robbery charge against 33-year-old Britton Clayton Traylor, who drove to the theater in his Porsche 911 Carerra and claimed he committed the brazen crime as part of his initiation to earn a higher degree as a Freemason.

"We're not really buying that as we've never heard of Masons instructing members to commit criminal acts,'' said Hoover police spokesman Capt. Gregg Rector. "It's really one of the most ridiculous excuses that we've heard lately. He may have achieved a higher level of stupidity, but that's about it."

On Monday, lawmen responded to an armed robbery at the Carmike Lee Branch Theaters on Doug Baker Boulevard. Rector said Hoover officers and Shelby County sheriff's deputies arrived at the theater to find the manager and another man on top of Traylor, holding him on the ground in front of the theater.

Yeah, the Florida must be creeping north up into Alabama.  I got this.

I can't excuse his actions. I'm just glad that no one apparently got shot, but . . .?! if he was some down-and-out, I understand what he did, but . . .?! His getaway car was a Porsche 911 Carrera. . .?! Does anybody know what one of those cost? Depending upon the year and the make, they cost anywhere between $70,000 and $110,000. That's what I don't get. At least now, he can practice what he preaches in prison.

Yeah, I saw that.  Even the ones that are 15 years old can cost as much as a new car.
