When I lived on Dead End road-(40th st.)-in 1970-1973-we lived in an old farmhouse-upstairs I shred a HUGE bedroom with my brother Mike-only one bigbed-we shared that too. But we both loved comics-and we both loved monsters!
Besides tearing out pages of Famous Monsters magazine and plastering our walls with them-we had some real posters-
the first big one we had was of-believe it or not-of the band the Stooges-it was a montage of photos. I had no flippin' idea who they were-I would study the dam thing trying to find Moe,Larry,or Curly. My Dad worked for American Nationl Bank fixin up properites they repossesed-he found it in some hippie house here in Michigan-this was in 1970.
He also found this-

I thought this one was cool-I didn't care for the Stooges one (where's Moe?).
Me and Mike bought this threw a comic book ad-the Frankenstein one-we didn't know it was a poster-we thought it was gonna be a big Frankenstein statue-it was a plastic poster with glow in the dark paint on it's eyes-it was still pretty groovy.

I got more big ones-but I don't wanna blow my wad on the first post.
Tell me about yer posters back in yer youth!

I had a big poster of Darth Vader, striding towards the camera, holding his red lightsaber.
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

I put up maps more than posters, I'm obsessed with maps, but I did live vicariously on the poster front through my best friend, and was always going over to her house to help her rearrange and update her posters, and she had lots, covering almost all available surfaces with them. She loved horses and had a lot of horse posters, one she kept for years was these wild white mustangs running through a stream. She also had the usual boy band pinups, Paula Abdul, one of River Phoenix in My Own Private Idaho, one for Legends of the Fall, and much later Titanic, which I used to kid her about. This male friend of mine used to coat his walls with anime and sci-fi and fantasy posters, especially those Frazetta babe types. I don't think my kids have hit the poster age yet....huh, guess that'll be coming soon.

Good topic, RC!

I had posters like these on my wall as a kid and as a teenager.

The New Avengers: I had quite a crush on Joanna Lumley.

The Professionals: probably one of the most violent TV shows ever.

The lovely Samantha Fox: I had this picture on my cupboard door at college and was ordered to take it down otherwise I would be thrown out.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

As a kid I had the same poster that's on the wall at Dick Hallorann's (Scatman Crothers) house when he lies in bed watching TV, in The Shining (1980).
I also had the Jaws (1975) poster on my wall for a long time. And I had the limited poster of Prince standing in a shower that was included in some of his Controversy (1981) albums.

The person in charge of the residence where I lived ordered me to remove that "pornography" off my door.

The only ones I can remember:

One of David Bowie and The Cure each, "inherited" from my sister who had the room before me.

One of Charlie Chaplin.

One with Hans and Sophie Scholl and Christoph Probst ("The white rose").

A large one with a drawing by Boris Vallejo.

and tons of postcards, pictures from magazines, etc...

When I was a teenager--14-I had this black lite frankenstein poster-which looked cool with my plastic yellow and orange day glo skull!

I also had a big poster of Kiss guitarist Ace! (I was -like every other 14 year old boy at the time-a huge Kiss fan. )

I remember in my mid to late teens I had these movie posters on my wall:

"O the legend they say, on a Valentine's Day, is a curse that'll live on and on.."

I had so many, I still have a lot of them. I had a Bugs Bunny/Michael Jordan one, a Biggie Smalls black and white poster with him wearing a suit and hat, a Bone Thugs -n- Harmony one with just the logo in red, Batman one with the logo with him standing under it, I also had a Lil' Kim in a cheetah print bikini, Stacy Keibler in her swimsuit on the beach, and a huge ass Hip Hop legends poster that takes up a whole wall, which is still at my parents home.

If I wasn't so lazy now, I'd post photos of them, but eh....
