Anyone doing anything special for it?  My mom is contemplating driving a little ways out to an area where you're supposed to be able to see it more clearly, but dunno, I heard a LOT of people are planning to do that, as the line is pretty well publicized, so they're probably be a crap ton of traffic.

How about you guys, any plans?  I've got my special viewing sunglasses I got from the bank, but other than that, dunno....

I'm planning on driving from Richmond VA to Columbia SC to see it

The path is about 1.5-2 hours away from me, a bit too far to travel. I'll settle for the partial eclipse.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I would like to observe this. Not sure if i live in a good area. A lot of people have no interest in it which is kinda sad. I would also like to take a good picture of it.  This will also be great fodder for the "end of the world people!"

I had a chance to see one when I was a kid, But then our band director took us into a room with no windows.
For the rest of the day & days after, I had to put up with other kids talking about how exciting it was. Even the bad kids doing In School Suspension got to go outside & see it.

That sounds really wrong...

I was gonna go up to the mountains, but I think I missed the train. I think I'll go out to the woods a little closer by instead.

Just be careful not to buy any strange plants during an eclipse at this time of year.

The one I missed when I was a kid, It was so foggy & overcast, we could barely see the other end of the building, much less the sky. Nobody cared. The kids who got to see it were still really worked up afterwards.

No, Richmond VA.
The one I missed happened in the early '80s, but I don't recall the exact year.
