Ok to expand on the presidential memes post, let's try political memes in general.

The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

Rev. Powell

Honestly, I don't like political memes. They do not persuade anyone. It seems to me they are intended either to make the other side angry, or to get people who already agree with you to give you meaningless praise. It's a symptom of partisanship (our side wins, your side loses), which I believe is the opposite of politics (compromise and trying to create good social policy).

I also don't like politics on this site, though I've been outvoted on that one. We've lost members due to political fights and many non-partisan people find it annoying.

Why would someone fly a Confederate flag above a Catholic sacred heart painting when KKK types hate Catholics? Poor research on the part of whatever bigot mixed these metaphors.  :bouncegiggle:

Well-here's one I think we can all get behind-

Got to admit, I did stop visiting the site for several months before the last US election when I got a bit tired of seeing friends arguing.

This may have referenced a WW2 admiral. Hey, no one said it had to be current politics.

It's called 'trickle down" economics.
Say Beer is Money.
Some rich guy guzzles a case of beer.
Then he p**ses it all over the guys who bought him the beer.
And we get what's trickling down his leg.

In other words- the CEO's get most of the money, the stockholders get whats left of it, and we get the crumbs.

I guess when the day comes that poor people start creating more jobs for others than rich people, for the first time in history we'll have something that defies even the laws of gravity: trickle-up economics.

It's like my boy Billy Corgan said, "When I write a song, why should someone who didn't write it make money off my creativity?"

With more working and less complaining there'd be a lot less poverty. Guy in the cartoon looks like a drug-addict bum to me.

Some times you can work as hard as you want, but if the job pays peanuts you just aren't going to get aany better off. I would say under both classical and Keansian economics trickle up economics is exactly what you get. For better or worse, it's the way the world is. Money goes up the way and the few get most of it. Damn few people are ever going to say "You know what, I've made enough money to live on and do what ever I want, I think I'll give the excess away."

It's also worth remembering that the latest financial crash when you get down to it was caused by very rich people being greedy and using financial systems they didn't truly understand to make money, thus couldn't see that it was all going to go wrong until it was too late, and yet the same people who caused it are not the ones who suffered the most because of it. In fact very few countries have done anything against those responsible.

Damn, I hate political conversations. I always seem to end up dragging myself into them.

You know, I actually hate them too and managed to stay totally out of them here in 2012, and mostly did in 2016. Politics divides people who could be friends. What we need is a separate forum here just for them. Enter at your own risk. Then any politics debated anywhere else could be moved or deleted. Or better yet, the violator fined, and I get the money.

Years ago I privately suggested a separate political forum to Andrew. He said no, because he was afraid it would draw people who wanted to talk about politics to the forum. Now it can't be done.

As far as political memes goes, this one is a favorite of mine:

Since PETA isn't a good place to begin with (seriously, just look at how they took people's pets and killed them, killed off animals from their "shelters", and how the money they've received goes into marketing rather than helping animals) I don't feel bad about it.
yeah no.

Svengoolie 3

Yeah I kinda got sick of PETA when they attacked warhammer 40, 000 over spacewolves wearing wolfskin capes...
