I won't lie, I do eat fast food but not very often. Maybe once or twice a month. Even though I work shifts I do find the time to do most of my own cooking. Meaning, I actually go grocery shopping, I prepare the meal, I cook the meal and I clean up the kitchen afterwards.
Sure it would be convenient just to grab a bag of fast food at the drive-thru on my way home, but if I had to eat fast food on a daily basis (which I did a few times) I feel sick and tired after some time. Also, there's always this weird lingering greasy-like aftertaste.

So how about you? How often (if at all) do you consume fast food and why?

I live in a small town. With not 1 fast food joint-and I don't own a car. So-yeah-maybe once or twice a year.
Plus-I ain't wild about fast food anyway. And I LOVE to cook.

And I LOVE to cook.

I should come over for a meal sometime.  :teddyr:

Fast food for me, maybe three or four times a month. Pizza on Sundays and a good breakfast from Wimpy who do something called brains on toast ...umm, a double up breakfast.

Usually once a week, on the day I buy groceries (so I don't have to cook that night). Some nights I will pick up a pre-roasted chicken from the grocery store, which could count as fast food---I'm not sure.

We have a long line of ff joints on the main drag near where I live so I alternate between McDonalds, White Castle, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Arby's (rarely), Panda Express and Chik-Fil-A.

I like them, but only occasionally.

Heck, I may go tonight...

I follow a franchise guy on twitter. They are springing up everywhere as retail slows. You can't buy fast food on amazon yet. Most of them are burgers and fried chicken. There's one called Bahama breeze that looks interesting if not super authentic and also Chicken Salad Chick. I think they mean chicken salad chic but it's probably good if you like chicken salad which is so unappetizing looking I've never even had it. I go to KFC sometimes and not actually chipotle but similar local places. Boston has a pretty good burrito scene

I was completely gobsmacked when my wife told me sure was used to eating fast food multiple times a day back in Utah. I made it quite clear that wouldn't be happening once she moved over here.

Mostly because the closest fast food joint is in the next town over.

Anyway, combining eating meals with my habit of liking going for long walks helped her lose a lot of weight when she came over, which combined with the cleaner air in this part of the country compared to what she is used to has also seriously cut down on her asthma attacks.

She gets McDonalds once a month when she goes out with her friend Karen now and generally if we do fancy something when we are out we go for Subway in the vague hope its healthier than the alternatives.

One of my New Year's Resolution is to eat less fast food. That being said, I've had Taco Bell twice in January, a chargrilled burger place twice, and Smoothie King twice when I was sick.
yeah no.

Sometimes I will have it 2 or 3 times in a week. Sometimes, I will go almost a month without having it at all. So, it probably averages out to a few times per month.

I eat out a lot.  Not so much 'fast food' in terms of like, McDonalds or Wendy's.  There's a lot of pizza joints and hoagie shops here.  I like to get a hoagie now and then.

Also, live five minutes away from this great surf and turf place so at least once a week I stop in for a few drinks and some wings and either a burger or some lobster.

I've not eaten at a 'chain' like McDonalds in around...8 years or so?

I was going to try a Big Mac when they came to South Africa but then Morgan Spurlock put me off eating them forever.

It's worth it, once.

I'm pretty sure it's longer than 8 years, really.  Last actual memory I've got of a McDonald's is like 2004 or so.  I only say it's been 8 years or so, I was with a group of people, drunk, at around 4AM and I didn't order anything in particular but ate someone's order of fries.  And even then, only had a couple.

I used to eat fast food at least a couple times a week if not more.  We have Hardee's, Culvers, McDonalds, KFC, Wendy's, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Subway, Five Guys, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Taco John's, and A&W around here.  I think Five Guys was my favorite out of all of them.  I really liked how Five Guys opened a local place so I could go there more often instead of just when going to see my sister in St. Louis or up to the Twin Cities.

Since surgery though I've only been to them a couple times, and now even the smallest burger is usually too much for me to eat at once.  If I go to one now I just get a small hamburger and a bottle of water to go with it.  Besides I generally try to avoid eating in my ride just so I don't wind up with food and grease in the vehicle.  I'll have coffee or something to drink or maybe a protein bar but that's pretty much it.

Going out to eat in any event is a bit of a problem because the portions are just so big.  I usually wind up taking most of the meal home with me because I can only eat a small portion of the meal.

I used to eat a lot more fast food, but my wife and I both have cleaned up our acts big time in the past year.

Right before Christmas 2016, my wife (for a variety of health related reasons) had weight loss surgery. This naturally necessitated a big time change in our family's eating habits -- not just when we went out, but at home as well. We cut out a lot of carbs (pasta, bread, etc.), eat a lot more veggies/proteins, and we've also learned better portion control. My wife lost over 100 lbs in 2017 and thanks to her cooking healthier and me getting into the habit of taking a half hour walk on my break at work, I've lost a little over 40 pounds as well.

(I could probably stand to lose another 10 if I worked really hard at it, but I seem to have hit a plateau, at least for the moment - it seems like I've been gaining and losing the same five pounds back and forth for the past several months, haha)

I won't lie, I do still occasionally stop for an Egg McMuffin on my way to work in the morning (I always preferred McDonalds' breakfast stuff to the rest of their menu) but I don't do it nearly as often.
