The sleep of reasoner breeds monsters. (sic)

An unexpected delight, and I love the theme song. Oh, to be able to metal detect in some of the places they had access to on that show! (But I also just found out metal detecting is associated with an increased risk of certain waist-high cancers? Wot????) Anyway, this is a charmingly low-key and at times slightly dry British show that makes use of quiet like no other semi-comedy series I can think of ever has. The two main characters rarely even make an expression on their faces, and their oh-so-tragio-serious interactions made me laugh. Funny also to see the psycho hag stalker of the gay character on Skins series two play someone nice on Detectorists, and look much prettier than she was allowed to when she was trying to be boy-ish and creepy on the other show. You can see the entire series in a weekend, and you probably won't regret tagging along in search of Saxon gold.

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
