We had a "double heat alert" in st. louis today. I did'nt even know there was such a thing and still don;t know WTF is it, but we had one.

It was so hot a flat eather walked and an anti vaxxer into the st. louis science center just to gt the cold shoulder.

Had the hottest day in Scotland for 25 years this week. People are starting to get sun tans, although here that just means they turn a pale blue colour rather than getting browned.

even my wisconsin family is frying at this point. my baby sister, bless her pointy little head, has a basement filled with cribs and cots where the twins friends with babies can sleep in the AC, since many of them don't have central air, just a small window unit in one room.

have you got AC, ronny? most of my midland friends don't, and none of the yoopers do.

Don't forget the water conservation notices, because apparently there's a drought in Scotland right now.

We have an air conditioner, but It's just one of those window ones. But we got ceiling fans in the kitchen, computer room, and living room. And house fans in the other rooms. And we got lots of tree coverage, and keep the curtains drawn during the day. You'd be surprised how much that helps.

driving Uber: yesterday a girl wouldn't get out of my car because she had to text her friend to come down and open the door so she could go from the car IN TO the house without having to ring the bell and wait

We got a basement- but it's a Michigan dirt basement.  An outside door into the ground with steep steps. Mortar and dirt. Some shelves in the front and back that had old canned tomatoes still in them. Looked like they been sitting there for 20 years. But it's nice and cool! And if a tornado hits us, wer'e good!

Brutal in New Jersey the past two days. Thankfully I had an ample supply of cold beer.

On the flipside of the world we just had the coldest morning of the year. Can confirm cold beers help in this circumstance too, though mulled cider comes in a nice second...
