So, I'd had some issues with my stomach. Apparently from drinking. No long term damage seen in the MRI but I had a seizure at the hospital.

Figure I'll take it easy for now. Start seeing a shrink and get meds. Seizures are no joke.  :buggedout: :bluesad:

Sorry to hear that, man, get better!

And you're not in this alone - even Caesar had seizures!

Sorry to hear that, man.
I've been in rehab for drinking, but I never had seizures.
Take it easy, man.
I started smoking more pot. Cut my drinking by 80%.
I hope it works out, my friend. I been to AA countless times, and I refuse to do drugs.
I knew a girl in rehab, though, who swore by a book called Chicken Soup for the Soul, or something like that.
Sounded like crazy s**t to me.

Take it easy. You've been hard on your body and it will probably take time to heal. Follow your doc's advice. Good luck, we're pulling for you.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

They wanted me straight to rehab from the hospital. Given my history with hard stuff as well. There's a chance the seizure was from low sodium but I'll find out more tomorrow.

I do drink a LOT though

You may hear of "boofing" as an alternative to drinking and consider it a way to spare your stomach.  Don't do it. Just don't. It can kill you.

So. Doctor said anymore booze is risking death. Seizures. Still feel it's too young to be sober. But. What do I know.

Then ya gotta stop, man.
Hint- Chew bubble gum. Sugar helps. When you go to AA meetings- there are always bowls of candy in the middle of the table. And coffee.
AA helps some folks. I didn't help me, but that's just me. It helped lots people.

I have lunch most days with a one-time addict, twenty-two years sober, who says the only way out of addiction is to find something more motivating than the addiction itself. In his case it was the certainty of impending death if he did not stop the drinking that damaged his liver and the cocaine abuse that had taken over the other parts of his life. His transformation post-sobriety led to his complete moral and spiritual renewal as a person, bringing out what was always good in him and overcoming much of what he hated in himself. It sounds like your motivation found you, too, so good luck with it.

For now, I've no plans on picking up the habit again.  I just find it...I dunno.  Ironic or something, that I've spent years chasing death, and looking at the possibility of it, stopping.  Literally wanting not to live anymore and know what could do it, and I'm not gonna.  The outpouring of support from people around my hometown (and on here) but people who should've given up on me years ago reaching out and showing support is insane to me.  I'm not a good guy.  I don't deserve it.
