All the craze about The Beatles. It's amazing how it still holds to this day.

I mean, Lennon is nothing but a character, and the musical side of the band is complete garbage. :tongueout:

Sorry, I'm the exact opposite. I don't get people who don't like the Beatles.

I don't get why folks who drink wine or beer or vodka mixed with orange soda pop wonder why I only drink whiskey.
I ask them the same thing.   :drink:

And I always thought it was kinda wimpy that I couldn't elevate past depth charges, no matter how strong I made them!
I guess it doesn't matter, seeing I never really built a tolerance either, & eventually quit........

The first three original STAR WARS movies have been on and I've watched enough of each to remember them (I think they've been "tweeked"  )
The first three movies were FUN nonsense.  Operative word: NONSENSE.

I don't "get" the devotion to STAR WARS ... particularly the later movies.

Well, that could be said about lotsa movies. Before movies it was the wild west shows and the circus. And freak shows.
What that statement has to do with the price of eggs in China I don't know!

I really don't like the beatels or dislike them. There are a couple songs they did I like, mostly i'm just neutral on them.

The Beatles were a little "before my time" so although they have a few songs I enjoy and I respect their place in rock n roll history 'n' all that, they've never really been "my" thing.

I knew a guy in college who was an absolutely obsessed Beatle-maniac though. This dude took musical snobbery to a whole 'nother level. As far as he was concerned, the Beatles were the Alpha and the Omega of rock music. In this guy's world, everything that came before the Beatles sucked, and everything that came after the Beatles (except for the various members' solo works, of course) sucked too.

Thankfully I never had to share a dorm room with this person because I would've lasted about fifteen minutes before throwing the first punch.  :teddyr:

I get it.  I've always loved THE BEATLES but they are hardly the only act in Rock.  I love Rock BEFORE like LITTLE RICHARD and ELVIS.  I love contemporaneous like STONES and DYLAN.  And I love things since, like STOOGES and RAMONES but hardly all ex-Beatle output.  Snobbery in any form is stupid.

I have never gotten why the SA national cricket team - world beaters on any given day - always fail when it comes to the Cricket World Cup. They got their arses beaten by England yesterday!

Well, as I see it, it is never shameful to be beaten by the best, in most instances, and England or the U.K., as I like to think of them, are regarded by experts as having the best team participating in the Cup. What I think is shameful is that the U.S. does not have a team participating.

While cricket has not been an Olympic sport since 1900, where, of course, the U.K. took the gold, there is some talk of bringing it back to the Olympics sometime in the near future. Maybe South Africa will have better luck there.

You mentioned in a previous post that South Africa had so far played twice and lost twice. We know that one lost was to England or the U.K., to whom was the other lost?

Bangladesh  :buggedout: :buggedout: and now it looks like we're going to get beaten by India too.
