I found out this morning that my mother has inoperable, stage 4 cancer in her colon, lungs, liver, and spine.
At her age (86), chemo is not recommended (not that she'd do it if it was).
She'll be going on hospice care, and the doctor said 3 - 6 months is a fair guess as to how long she'll be with us.
I'm still reeling . . .

I know, Indy.  I been there.Tara Sue died of cancer. I almost killed myself.
Be strong, my friend.
It was the most horrible thing. I doubted my own worth in this world. If 'they' could take her.
Yet there was no "They". All I could say is "WHY"?
I still have no answer. :bluesad: And I never will.
But unlike me-you have Faith-so hold on to that.

So sorry to hear this Indy.
Hail to thyself
For I am my own master
I am my own god
I require no shepherd
For I am no sheep.

Sending warm hugs to you Indy.  :bluesad:
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

Thanks so much, my friends.
Mom is taking this better than we are.  After the oncologist left yesterday, she looked straight at me and said:
"If this is my road to heaven, I'm taking it - and don't you dare question God!"
What could I say but "Yes, Ma'am!"?

When I left last night she was sitting up in bed, eating chocolates and laughing.
The doctor says this form of cancer doesn't cause a great deal of pain.
I guess that's the best we can hope for at this point.

I haven't prayed in a long time but I will pray for you and your family tonight.

Other than sending love and strength there isn't much more I can do but I'm always around if you need someone one to speak to, Alex always knows how to find me.

At this point just take every day you have with her as the blessing that it is.

It's okay.  She has had a good long life.  She is fortunate to have you as a son.  Smart sensible lady.  God bless her.

If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!
