For me the most horrifying thing I've seen on tv was an ep of Night Gallery called "the academy".

This was a non gory,  non bloody type of horror, a quiet,  implied horror. In some ways that makes it worse than splatter horror.
The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

The most horrifying thing I've ever seen on TV was an episode of McCloud called Somebody's Out To Get Jennie which I saw when I was about ten.

There is one scene in that episode that nearly drove me buggers: the whole day, Jennie's been hearing her dead boyfriend whispering "Jennnnnyyyyyyyyy...." to her and she tries to find refuge from the madness in her apartment. The voice continues calling her name even in her apartment and as she stares in horror, the lifesize, faceless portrait of her boyfriend that she has painted on the wall comes to life, calling "Jennnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyy........."   :buggedout: :buggedout: :buggedout:

I should add that this episode has a lovely ending but eish, it's insanely creepy. Cameron Mitchell and Julie Sommars co-star.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

Night Gallery, The Caterpillar. So I'm about to google earwigs.

Good news: Wikipedia says that's an old wive's tale.

The Manson trail.
My Dad watched Walter Cronkite every night, and in 1969-1970, Manson was on the news every night.
He looked crazy- he had a nazi sign on his head, and his "Family" killed lotsa people. I knew this; I was 7 and 8.
My Dad would say "If you don't cool your jets, I'll send you to live with Charlie Manson!!"
And I believed him! I already had lived in 2 foster homes and an orphanage- I thought he was gonna do it!
I was terrified of my Dad!  :buggedout:
