I remember about 2005 or so a bunch of buildings from around Europe were purchased by the Chinese and shipped out there brick by brick to build an authentic old European town. A church on my daily trip of college was one of the buildings bought and moved across.

Reminds me of the hubbub over some TV movie being shot in Richmondton New Zealand, because it wasn't practical to film in Richmond Virginia...

In fact, I've heard of replicas of Virginia locations in New Mexico & Arizona, in spite of the growing film industry here in the Commonwealth....

Yeah, some guy with more money than brains bought London Bridge thinking he was buying Tower Bridge and shipped it over stone by stone. I have no idea at what point he discovered he'd bought the wrong one.
