The cancer is entering its final stages.  Today the hospice nurse told my sister-in-law that it's a matter of weeks now, a month at most.
Mom is in good spirits, her faith in God is unshakable, and she wants to see my Dad again.
We've been expecting this since January . . . but it's really hard.

I'm sorry to hear that. Will pray for you & your family.

Alex

Sorry to hear this Indy. I hope you both make the most of every day you have left.
Hail to thyself

I am my own god
I require no shepherd
For I am no sheep.

Rev. Powell

Sorry to hear that.  :bluesad: I'm sure I'll be in the same boat soon.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Leah

Hugs.
I sometimes wonder if the long lingering illnesses aren't harder on the family than things that happen quickly.
You have my sympathy and support

Dad was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer disease in late 2007 and the end came mercifully quick in May 2008: he had an aneurysm which ruptured and he passed away quickly.

Time gives you time.  I expect you are proud of her.  I'm thinking of you.

Sorry, Indy. I'm sure every moment you share with your mom will be special.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Mom was moved into a hospital bed yesterday, after (by her own choice) sleeping in a recliner for the last few years.
Unfortunately, early this morning she tried to get out of bed by herself and took a hard fall.  She's bruised and hurting, but we don't think anything was broken.  Not much they could do if it was; her cancer is really accelerating and she doesn't have much time left.  They've got her on morphine for the pain.  Patty and I went over and sat with her for a while this afternoon, and my daughters got in to visit this morning.
It's a difficult time for us all right now . . .

Well,  Indy,  your mother knows her son became successful and happy in life,  and no son can do more than that to comfort their parents in their last days.  You can take some solace  in knowing your success and happiness will make your mother feel her life accomplished something by raising you.

Good vibes to you and your mom, Indy. Hope she's comfortable and you're at peace.
