I originally watched this film shortly after its U.S. DVD release, and had the chance to DVR it on cable some time back and watch it again last week.
There have been many movies made about Hitler, some serious and some ridiculous, but Bruno Ganz' portrayal of the Fuhrer of the Third Reich is probably the most accurate ever made.  Based on the memoirs of Hitler's private secretary, Traudl Junge, this is a fascinating and intimate look at the last days of Nazi Germany's dictator, showing a Hitler who is both human and monstrous.  All sides of the 20th century's most infamous leader are on display: the persuasive orator, the ruthless butcher, the screaming, paranoid lunatic, and the rather banal bourgeois man with a shy smile and a fondness for pretty girls.  DOWNFALL successfully humanizes the world's most loathsome monster without making him any less monstrous.  The movie contains some remarkably disturbing moments - Hitler's rant, mis-captioned on YouTube a thousand times, is still powerful, and the scene where Magda Goebbels calmly murders her six children is very hard to watch.  If you are a fan of World War II history, or fascinated by the story of the Third Reich, this film is a must see!

All I can say here is "Yeah, definitely. " It took a lot of courage to portray Hitler as a inhuman being with flaws and vulnerabilities just like anyone else. Also people hag  said that Magda got bibles had more guts than the scarecrow hubby of hers.

Oh,  and an example of the downfall parody antics.
