Malcolm McLaren's self-praising re-telling of the Sex Pistols' rise and fall manages to be comedy, history, and a long music video all in one. Did this brilliantly sleazy entrepreneur really scam one record label after another while fooling the public and the Pistols alike by pretending it was all about the sound of anarchy, when it was always about getting in and out with quick money? You decide. Whatever the truth, McLaren's celluloid legacy is a silly film that's less a documentary and more a descendant of the crazy movies The Beatles used to make, but forty years on he has left us with a rare backstage pass to the fascinating train wreck that was the Sex Pistols, and punk rock itself, and it's a blast to watch it go off the rails.

I've never seen the movie, but I love the album!

Of course, I've seen this clip:

Ah, Sid, dear Sid. He lived fast, died young, and left behind a beau..... He left behind a corpse.

SID was a no-talent; a Rock n Roll dipsh!t.  The SEX PISTOLS only real album is a Great album.  I also love MALCOLM McLAREN's Duck Rock album, but his major contribution was really production... and looking like an idiot.   He liked to take credit, but smart enough not to take production credit.
