Tubi has some films this month I need to see! I just watched CURSE OF THE AZTEC MUMMY last night! I plan on watching CURSE OF THE DOLL PEOPLE next! (I been on a Mexi-monster movie kick lately...)

To complete the whole cinematography from John Carpenter, I plan to watch GHOSTS OF MARS, which I've heard it's terrible. I find that hard to believe, but I'm willing to be surprised by Mr. Carpenter.

On a side note, I want to watch HOLMES & WATSON, which came last year and, as far as I know, it's deemed simply rancid. I can't wait to see that!

I picked out my four MST3K Halloween movies this year: DEVIL DOLL, THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE, THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS, and TOUCH OF SATAN.

Other than that I don't really change my viewing habits in October, though as a thought experiment I did post about my Essential Halloween Movie Picks in the Good Movies section.

On Halloween night I traditionally watch a horror/comedy. Past years picks have been TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL and WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS.

As much as I love John Carpenter I do have to say, Ghosts of Mars was not his finest moment. It's about on par with Escape From LA, so if you enjoyed that one maybe it will work for you.

I actually loved ESCAPE FROM LA. Not as much as the first one, but I did enjoyed the campy aspect of it, and how it didn't took itself too seriously. I think it was more of a parody of the first one and action movies in general, and I believe Carpenter knew this. A quote from him:

"Escape from L.A. is better than the first movie. Ten times better. It's got more to it. It's more mature. It's got a lot more to it. I think some people didn't like it because they felt it was a remake, not a sequel... I suppose it's the old question of whether you like Rio Bravo (1959) or El Dorado (1967) better? They're essentially the same movie. They both had their strengths and weaknesses. I don't know-you never know why a movie's going to make it or not. People didn't want to see Escape that time, but they really didn't want to see The Thing (1982)... You just wait. You've got to give me a little while. People will say, you know, what was wrong with me?"

I want to watch Trick 'r' Treat (2007) by Michael Dougherty. I hear its actually pretty good.
