I'm surprised something like this didn't happen back in 1997.

At least the events in Hong Kong have made a lot of people (well, some) stop and think about what China's government is and how they and all Americans are funding it with their debit cards, and it's also exposed the reach China has inside our country.

Tell me again why globalism is an absolute good? (I ask on a likely Chinese-made tablet.)

Oh, I already knew how much of a reach China has in our country. The fact that they've been the quashing LGBT representation in cinema is something I've known and hated about them for years.
The Chinese government is one of many vile regimes that makes me wish I had the Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers.

China has regressed recently. circa the olympics they were on an upward trajectory but bad habits are starting to resurface.

If I were in Hong Kong I would be looking at Tibet and Xinjian and seeing what happens when you don't put up a good fight.

The only possible (barely possible) way to compel China's leaders to loosen up on that country would be a worldwide boycott on Chinese products, and that isn't going to happen. (Instead we'll see bumper stickers and #frrehongkong, and that'll be about it.) The ideals of the Age of Enlightenment are an endangered species and the future isn't looking bright. I fear political repression is to be the norm for most people, for all of time just because tyranny is easy and human rights are exceptionally easy to curtail.

I am totally with everyone on this page.

I posted a while ago about how china was persecuting Christians and Muslims, no one replied. And while you might think i'd be for Christians being persecuted i'm not . (Note that I do not consider keeping Christians from persecuting other peolle to be persecution of Christians.)

I opposed china when it began pere during the falon gong movement, I attacked them when they bggwn murder ring falon gong members and selling their organs on the transplant market. I called out Hollywood when it chanrfe the ancient one in Dr. Strange from a Tibetan man to a baldmnwhite woman to appease the butchers of Beijing.

I called out Hollywood when the stupid remake of red dawn changed the invaders from Chinese to north Korean.

I sure as hell condemned china's digital dictatorship, an utterly orwellian system of constant public surveillance and automatic social judgement that makes 1984 look libertarian.

Hollywood once attacked fascist regimes, like in ww2 and the cold war, they attacked the fascist countries, they attacked soviet Russia and maoist china.

Now they kowtow tom the most fascist brutal inhuman regime in history, a regime that murders dissidents and sells their organs. I guess china went from godless communism to godless capitalism, because selling human organs aftermnyiu murder the owners is really the ultimate form of capitalism. Godless capitalism.

When china was a godless communist country Hollywood routinekiy attacked them. Now that it's a godless capitalist country it basically dictates to Hollywood.
