I wait all year for TCM to run those, Black Sabbath, all the rest, and they're great. Horror sometimes works best when it's low-budget and slightly campy with hammy acting and a "so what, here it is, yes this is happening, deal with it" attitude. Hope everyone got to see some good bad  movies for the sacred holiday.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

TCM showed lots of Horror movies this month, many of which weren't right for Halloween.  I did catch these:
THE CURSE OF THE DEMON
THE HAUNTING
ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN
CAT PEOPLE

If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

And of course I watched GOJIRA (1954) ...!

i will miss TCM eventually i suppose, but i find those old faves on my own shelves, or on other free websites instead. saving the bucks for dumping cable is worth the research time to find the old faves, for sure. we dumped digital phone and downgraded internet service too.that $150+ a month savings will add up to a decent car in less than 2 years, yay! *sorry, went OT there*

^ Me and Tiana dumped cable TV too. The only phone I have is a land line.
Yeah, I got all the classics on vhs. And yes, I still watch vhs tapes.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

Of the movies I mentioned, the only one I trully enjoyed was: THE CURSE OF THE DEMON

THE HAUNTING I watched as a matter of circumstance, it's great, but does not hold up upon repeated viewing.  I think I also own it on VHS.
ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN is just silly fun, but I don't need to own it.
CAT PEOPLE is a guilty pleasure, and more of a "new" favorite, not an "old fave".

As it is, TCM typically repeats movies too often, it's a pet peeve.  I also luck out and get to see something I haven't before or a movie I like but don't need to own, like GOJIRA

ronny, we dumped the landline and got 2 consumer cellular flip phones for less than the landline. this works better for us because he's a delivery driver and i travel a couple of times a year, so now we both have" pocket" phones. it might help if we remembered to turn them on, lol! the landline number, we had that for almost 30 years and i got tired of the constant spam calls, don't miss those, my phone only rings when someone i like is calling now.
john, curse of the demon, does that have another title? i seem to be recalling it does...runes..something runes? i agree about the repeats, that bugged me too. with the new roku tv, i keep finding weird channels and sites with obscure movies that i'd normally find on TCM, it's pretty cool!

It's NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1957) in Britain... from an M.R. JAMES story "Casting The Runes".  It stars DANA ANDREWS, directed by JACQUES TOURNEUR.

'Cause it sounded way cooler as NIGHT OF THE DEMON or CURSE OF THE DEMON.  The director and screenwriter did not want the demon to be shown.  I agree with the producer... I love that DEMON!   :teddyr:

No, I don't think it's bad.  It's great!

POV, my friend, if it looked as good as the drawing, i'd agree wholeheartedly! but as an sfx artist, it's hilariously bad, lol! i mean that in the GOOD sense of bad, like we are with bad movies.
