Countdown

A group of teens download an app which predicts when they'll die. One is supposed to die in about an hour. She is not the main character. Knowing this, she refuses to get into her boyfriend's car. (He'd been drinking, & was in no shape to drive.) On her way home she gets a notice saying she's violated the apps terms & is stalked by...something. At home she locks herself in her bathroom. Suddenly she's thrown against the ceiling & walls by an unseen force, which kills her. Her boy friend, meanwhile, has hit a tree, & a tree branch has impaled into his passenger seat.

Flash forward a few weeks. The boyfriend's in the hospital, waiting for surgery. He's downloaded the app, & it says he'll die in a few hours. He is not the main character. A nurse consoles him, & she downloads the app. She's the main character, & the app tells her she'll die in a few days. In response she changes her plans, canceling a trip she planned, & something begins to stalk her...

This is an interesting premise,  but it feels like they wrote a script, then had an assistant write scary scenes for it. Lots of jump scares; tension doesn't really build. Feels like a first draft written in about a week. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it; I'm easy to please.
It still isn't a good movie. Cheesy cliche B-grade horror, ok if there's nothing else to watch, but not a must see.
