I have it on DVD (don't judge me . . . )
I judge you... as having a sense of humor!

I watched most of it.  It was on so late, I didn't watch the ending which I've seen before.  Though PINK FLAMINGOS is the most revolting and disgusting movie I've seen (that I enjoyed) MULTIPLE MANIACS is the most offensive.
It's a garbage pile, the summit of Trash, with a capital "T".  OMG.  :bouncegiggle:

"Oh Miss Divine is so beautiful and glamorous!"

"Oh, Mr. David, I want to commit acts with you!"

"Oh, Miss Divine, I've never given a rosary job to a celebrity before!"

It's a messterpiece!

I tried to watch it. I couldn't finish it. Same with any John Waters films. I don't know what the big hoopla over John Waters is all about.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

They're not to your taste.  That's cool.  But seriously, low budget, hand hammered script, bad acting, offensive content... the "loaves and fishes" are turned into many loaves of plastic wrapped Wonder bread and multiple cans of tuna...  Cheez and crackers!  Rosary job?  Rosary job?  It certainly is QUEER, which some people just can't deal with.  It's so dreadfully bad, bad for you, and in-your-face offensive, I live for sh!t like that!  MULTIPLE MANIACS is Punk Rock just at Punk's inception.

^I think for me it's just-I dunno- too smug?  Too artsy? I dunno.
I really don't know why.

Maybe when JOHN WATERS' films became accessible in the '80s they got "arty".  His "classic" films are not "arty" at all.  "Smug"?  I don't see that.  There are films we all don't like.

I dunno. It just tries too much to be campy.

I would say the "camp" is the whole point, very intentional.

Try watching "Serial Mom"  its the best of the old school John Waters with his modern day big budget senseblities.

and yes, John Waters intentionaly camps it up a billion degrees.  That's the point of his movies.

What?  SERIAL MOM is NOT "old school" JOHN WATERS at all.  Not.  At.  All.
