The main characters died but in the end they find themselfs as cats/dogs? again

I have been trying to find this movie from my youth.
The only thing i remember is that in the end there were 2 animals, dogs or cats. And the other one jumped in the
air of the surprise that they found each other again. ( they were previously humans but died )
This movie was around the 80s i think.

I think that might be it.

Fluke was a wild guess, just to get the ball rolling. If I remember right, it ends with a dog meeting a squirrel, who was itself a dog earlier in the movie.

Could also be "Oh Heavenly Dog," with Bengi. Going by Wikipedia, the ending sounds closer. (Not seen all of "Oh Heavenly Dog.)
