Just discovered the existence of gay comedy sci-fi writer Chuck Tingle. This is one of his least offensive book covers. Look him up on Amazon if you dare.  Buggedout

^ In real life these guys were really just regular New Yorkers!
Larry was gambling addict, Curly was shy ( unless he was drinking at a party!), Shemp usta bet on boxing matches, and Moe, just like in the films, was the boss. He made all the deals, got them jobs, and made the most money- which he shared equally with his brothers and Larry. Later on Joe Besser joined- and he had his own agent- as did 'Curly' Joe DeRita.
Shemp was actually a Stooge before Curly on stage-! Shemp started in the 1920's!

Shemp was a Stooge in vaudville in 1924!

Ted Healy, Shemp Howard, and Moe Howard in 1924.-

This would've been Groucho, Harpo, Chico & Gummo.....
Gummo went off to fight in WW1, & quit the biz when he got home...
I don't think they added Zeppo until they started making movies in the 1930s.
I'm not sure, but I think the first twenty years, they either worked separately, or were part of an act that worked separately.............
