There were no Irish slaves; that is a stupid myth that has been debunked many times.

I don't know what the political accusations are here and probably I'm lucky not knowing,  but there was Irish slavery. There was slavery everywhere at one time or another.

When the Danes took over a little Irish village on the Liffey River and turned it into Dublin, it was a center of slave trade, both into and especially out of Ireland, apparently mostly captured women being sold elsewhere, with the result being Irish DNA shows up in Slavic countries, Arab countries, even into Africa.

Going farther back, the man known to history as Saint Patrick was a Roman Briton kidnapped by Irish slavers and sold into Ireland as a slave, where he remained one for six years.

Slavery was an established practice among the Celts going back into distant antiquity.

Much later when the British established the Ulster plantation, "lifetime" indentures  were bought and sold, including indentured children, and if a lifetime servitude under those conditions isn't slavery then it's splitting the hair awfully fine. (The Irish have their own flaws and problems, no denying, but the national dislike of the British had something of a justifiable foundation.)

I don't know of any people anywhere who have not had slavery in one form or another.

What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Indy and ER are both right. Ancient Celts and Romans practiced slavery, but that's probably not what the meme is referencing. It's likely talking about indentured servants.

Harris may actually be a descendant of an Irish slave-owner named Hamilton Brown in Jamaica, but they would have been black slaves (naturally).
