Are you afraid of it? Most folks say no. I do too. But, of course I'm whistling in the graveyard, because I have serious heart issues, and this corona thing got me thinking- AGAIN!- about death.
I know everyone dies, that's a given. But I finally get to rest after so many years of drama...and I have this gnawing thing about dying in the back of my head. Ever since Larry, my buddy since middle school, died last year I ain't been right. I gave him a Lynrd Skynrd hat for Christmas last year. That was the last time I saw him.

I'm not afraid of death. I'm afraid of dying.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

That makes sense.

Both of these songs are about death.  I've been listening to them for about a week.

I 'kinda' worried about going to Hell...
I'm also worried about the kind of old folks 'home' I might end up in IF I get old...
I also worry about Alzheimer's & the kind of legacy some outa work bum like me is gonna leave behind...

I'm not worried about going to hell or what anybody thinks about me when I'm dead.
I do think about how it would be to be nothing. Hard for me to imagine being nothing.
I do believe there is something else- I just don't have a clue what it could be.

Not afraid of dying myself. I've had a couple of times when I thought I was going to die, the closest I know of s when  I was in a fight with two guys, one of whom had a knife. At the end of it I was lying on the ground beat and only semi-conscious. My face was in tatters, my nose was someone past my right eye about three inches from where is should have been. The awake part of my brain was expecting the knife to come down and finish things, while it was also thinking about how nice the stars in the night sky looked. I am a lot more concerned about people around me dying though. I don't like many people and I want to keep the few I do alive.

i'm afraid of what would happen to curtis if i die. i'm afraid of what would happen to me if he dies. so yeah, even though i believe i would reincarnate, i'm afraid of death.

My own death, very little most of the time; the deaths of those I love, very much so.
