Update your resume & start passing it out, just try not to be negative when describing your situation to perspective employers.

trev, you are SO loved, and SO smart. and wise too. please go look in a mirror and BE your wise self TO yourself, okay? you know as well as i do that YOU were not the failure here, THE SYSTEM WAS. YOU ARE FREAKING AMAZING!!!! and i agree with the others, go find the people who will know that as much as i do. and in the meantime, KEEP the job you enjoy. and eat pizza with the turtles. and dance in a sprinkler with uncle zombie's shorter fans. I'M one of them, and i would dance with you, if i could.

With the laws as they are now, there is no chance for me to get another job locally.

I was supposed to go back to work yesterday - that was the rumor anyway - but we've been told to hang on a bit.

Things are going to be awkward to say the least when I return so the longer I can stay away the better: maybe the hurt will have subsided a bit by the time I do return.

I can retire at 55 (three years from now) but I don't know if I should.

Is there a way you could do what you do as a side bar, y'know, contract out for a few extra bucks?
