Creepy opening, followed by goofy dialog, then get formulaic...

A scientist invents a machine that can take artifacts from the future... One of these artifacts is sent to an archeologist, who learns it's from the future, and highly radioactive...
The archeologist decides to visit the scientist, where he finds his assistant/investor has been secretly using the machine to try & bring back a living creature....
Slow paced, at times confusing, but ends up old fashioned sci fi fun....

They come up with an underground boring vehicle, but can't get the money to build it....
Help comes from the son of a rich newspaper magnate looking for adventure....
The machine works okay, but nobody likes this spoiled rich kid crashing the party, & cabin fever quickly takes over...

Made well before all the other "CENTER OF THE EARTH" movies I've seen, but I gotta say, the first two thirds of this one comes across like one of those safety videos they make you watch for operating heavy equipment with toxic chemicals.....
