when i was a teenager i read donald hall's poem my son my executioner & refused to see the arrival of a child in terms like those

today my youngest turned 11 & im still refusing

trinity made me more alive she didn't set me flinching from the re-division of my existence

I had an ex who was telling me the story of how she got pregnant with her first child and the realisation that she'd had when she first discovered she was pregnant. Her first thought was "Well, that's my life over." I won't say she didn't love her children in her own way, but she treated them as an inconvenience that got in the way of her partying. It didn't surprise me some years later when a mutual friend told me that her kids had walked out of her life. I've certainly never felt that way about Ash.

Sssssoooo......... It's now National Walkout Day for Columbine fans, which coincides with National 4-20 Day for marijuana fans, which coincides with Hitler's birthday.....

In fourth grade my teacher asked me to invent a rumor to see how fast it spread, so I said the glue that's on the paper wrappers on DQ ice cream cones was toxic. Not only did that brain fart spread through my class and my school, but that summer I heard it at a park a county away. Maybe it's still bouncing around out there. Things have to start somewhere.

Guess I wasn't meant to walk the Arizona Trail this year. Not only because my father in law is sick but they've just closed big sections of the trail around the Grand Canyon, one of the best parts. Oh, well, maybe another time.

Possible writers' strike happening tonight...

The main thing I remember about the last one, was the commercials....

A facebook friend shared one of those lost movies on his thread....
The Power (1968)

I always thought it was in B&W, but that was because I saw it on a B&W TV set....

Most of the old reruns I find myself watching are in B&W....
In a small way, it kinda makes me sentimental about those cheap B&W TV sets....

I just bought this. For 20 dollars. On ebay. It's from the early 60's.
It's not big. About a penny and half a penny. I like it.

Someday it'll all be gone. Loch Ness, White Castles, Elvis, rubber balls, teachable moments, T-rex fossils, oak trees, the moon, soft woolen socks, camels, Mount Rushmore.
