Bad Movies You Can’t Bring Yourself To Watch

That giant Al Adamson box set. Maybe if I got it for free or something and was retired. But the hefty price tag combined with the fact that I'll never get those hours of my life back is a big turn off.

Also, the later films of Ted V. Mikels. His earlier work is pretty bad, but they were made in eras where films had a certain earnestness and charm to them. However, it's amazing that about a third of his work was made after 2000! I've watched The Corpse Grinders II and it's literally a shot for shot remake of the first film except it's mixed in with this bats**t crazy storyline about cat people from outer space. I think it may have been over 2 hours of this stuff. I'm not sure if his other later movies were like this. Frankly I don't care to find out.

But the thing that inspired me to make this thread was finding out about the directorial efforts of Conrad Brooks. For those who don't know he was a bit player in some Ed Wood movies. He took this tiny sliver of what could generously be called stardom and nearly a half century later started directing his own no budget movies in 1996 and did this until 2010. If you look on IMDB the movies don't have many reviews and some of them are from people who bought the movies directly from Brooks at conventions. They're obviously bad movie fans and even they crap all over them. Some of these efforts were collected in a box set that you can find for about $30 on eBay. It's tempting but again there just aren't enough hours in a day. And I'd never get that $30 back.

For more recent stuff I still haven't seen most of those supposedly really bad comedies from about 10-15 years ago. Like Extreme Movie. I've seen Not Another Teen Movie and Scary Movie a bunch and loved those, but understand movies like Extreme Movie had only like two of the staff from those movies and were made by a duo production team whose name escapes me. I'm not sure how bad they are. I've seen part of one once (forget which one). Compared to some of the dreck I've watched it didn't seem that bad. It's just the reviews were so bad that it zapped any interest I may have had on them.

when it comes to the 'classics', I've not actually managed to sit all the way through PLAN 9, or MANOS... got maybe about 2/3rds thru each

I have no desire to watch LEONARD PART 6 or NORTH

The Human Centipede movies.
only saw the first one but, despite the kind of outrageous/sensationalist premise, it was really quite a generic 2000s style horror

I've heard the sequels are more outlandish

I went through a phase in the early 2000s where I was watching all those infamous most shocking movies ever. Irreversible, Cannibal Holocaust, Faces of Death, etc. I'm not fundamentally opposed to checking some more of these out, but really don't have much desire to. Honestly, a lot of the time these days as far as bad movies go I tend to gravitate towards recent stupid comedies. Or at least campy stuff from the 1960s-1980s.

As for the disturbing stuff though out of the notorious ones I'd argue that Cannibal Holocaust is the highest quality one. Irreversible would probably have more defenders, but it has some elements of pretentious artsy fartsy crap I'm not a fan of. Also, Men Behind the Sun is probably the most genuinely disturbing. Between it being based on the actual torture of Chinese prisoners, real animal abuse, and using real cadavers for some scenes, it's quite a bit.

I secretly like "Myra Breckinridge"    It's an A list actor (except Raquel) star filled train wreck.

I own Exorcist II: The Heretic

it's... interesting and ok, but not where near as good as The Exorcist

honestly i've always liked it no it's not as good as the original but i dunno how many times i've seen it it's at least more than 30 i don't think it's as bad as people say it is but it's not a 10 either if that makes any kind of sense.  as for films i cannot bring myself to watch and that's "Troll 2'  (1990) or whatever year it came out in, some sources say (1989) others (1990)  take your pick
