I was born in the Bronx NY, but I lived, and still live in Lawton, Michigan. For 50 years.

Here's the same street about 100 years ago. The population was bigger than then it is now.

We're down to 1,500 people. And it keeps getting lower.
This is turning into a ghost town.

I'm a strange dude so I have not one but two home towns

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe: my birth place.

Gweru [formerly Gwelo] Zimbabwe, where I grew up and went to school.

I was born in Greenville, TX and have lived within 50 miles of my birthplace my entire life, except for my 4 years in the Navy.
It's not a bad place, really.

I was accidentally born in Kentucky on Christmas Eve, because I came a week early and very, very fast, so if your hometown is where you're born, I guess I'm connected to a river city called Covington.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Born and somewhat raised in Darby, PA, just outside of South Philly.  Notably, W.C. Fields was associated with the town back in the day, as was Jeff LaBar from rock band Cinderella and Monica Horan who played Ray Romano's sister in law on Everybody Loves Raymond.

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

I've lived all over... New Jersey.     I was born in East Orange, went to schools in Point Pleasant Beach, Newton, Spring Lake, Maplewood... lived years in those and in South Orange, Morristown, Manville, Asbury Park... have I mentioned Neptune?

I consider Lawton my home, but I lived in the Bronx in 1979-1981.  I was born there.
Even though the Bronx was f**ked up as a can of worms, I enjoyed the total anarchy. Nobody ever f**ked with me. I was a 5'2" long hair hippie looking kid. I bought pot. I sat in Poe Park (look it up) and got drunk as 3 motherf**kers. Nobody care what anyone did. Mostly the cops. They never did s**t. I didn't care. I had no need for f**king cops. It really was a war zone. There was still burned out rubble from the 1977 Bronx riots.
And the music was fantastic.

New York's one of my favorite cities: I've never gone there but would like to one day.
