I wish Rocktober Blood had a decent physical media release. It appears that MGM owns the original print. The Sebastian family who made the movie claim they own "home video" rights. They released a special edition BD-Rom in poor quality (taken from an ex-rental tape) a few years ago, and applied a cheap adobe filter to make it look remastered. Fans who bought it filed for refunds.

However, the Sebastians still made enough sales to buy a brand new BBQ grill they showed off on their website  :bouncegiggle:

Something silly to start off with and then getting more serious for when it gets later.

TCM used to have wonderful marathons on Halloween showing thriller B movies like THE BLACK ROOM or THE WALKING DEAD or THE MAN THEY COULD NOT HANG or THE MAN WITH NINE LIVES... all BORIS KARLOFF... all perfect for creaky creepy old timey Halloween viewing...

My recommendations 3 would be :

RETURN TO GLENNASCAUL (1951) a short film ORSON WELLES appears in and narrates.  The perfect ghost story.  It's available at YouTube.

DANZA MACABRE (aka CASTLE OF BLOOD 1964) - superb Italian Giallo with BARBARA STEELE

SON OF FRANKENSTEIN - maybe the best of the first 3 films, less humor than BRIDE, lots of BELA LUGOSI and the great BASIL RATHBONE

The film on the right was the first film I ever saw advertised on the internet, the first time I used the internet ever. Still chilling after all these years.  :buggedout: :buggedout:

My triple feature:

Alone In The Dark (Uncle Uwe)
Race With The Devil
The Sound of Music
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

A Vincent Price triple:
...

Frankly they all suck except the last one.  HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL which I own around here on VHS is typically shown on TCM for Halloween which is disappointing at best.  CAROL OHMART is the reason to watch that and it is so remarkably CHEEZEE and CORNY it could slip by as Halloween is about bad taste.  THE TINGLER is also lame but even more boring.  Now... THE LAST MAN ON EARTH is CREEPY...

... KING KONG ESCAPES (1967) has a special place in my heart, as I saw it on a Saturday matinee on Halloween in 1973.

Dr. Who say :  "Yes.  Yes.  KONG's mine now."
