That is quite a deceptive looking couch.  I read some of the reviews and one of them said the legs are separate and cost extra!!  I wonder if they either originally didn't buy the legs, forgot to put them on, or got the wrong legs.  Or do you think maybe someone else swapped out the legs and she didn't notice?  Or is she that kind of crazy that your cousin doesn't want to openly admit that the couch sucks in front of her but enough people complained about it that he changed the legs and didn't tell her?  haha!  Sorry for being so interested in something so mundane but that's pretty funny!

Why do couches have legs, anyway? Just to allow stuff to get lost under them?

Apparently it stands for Non Fungible Token, a unit of cryptocurrency. Now I'm even more confused.  Question

My understanding is that you get a picture of a piece of artwork and the value of it is tied to the perceived value of the picture, but you don't ever own the original. That may be a poor explanation of it, because it doesn't sound to me like it would be a good thing to invest money in.

I think an NFT is way of digitally identifying the parties to a contract. It's like a certificate of authenticity. Most famously it's been used by buyers of digital artwork to establish ownership of the work. However, what that ownership entails depends on the contract. Anything digital can be copied, but there can only be one owner of the NFT. It has yet to be established whether they have any real practical value (I'm guessing very little).

So I could make a bad movie ("Cryptocurrency Zombies") and sell it to RC via NFT. RC would then own "Cryptocurrency Zombies" according to whatever the terms of our contract were, and the NFT would prove RC was the legitimate owner. RC could then sell it to Alex, if Alex was a big enough sucker to buy it. Meanwhile, Trevor could probably just copy it and post it on YouTube, but he couldn't prove he owned it.

Wouldn't it make more sense to flush your money down the toilet and then claim ownership of all the sh*t in the sewer system?

^ Exactly what I thought it was!
Which means "I have no clue!"

The only part of cryptocurrency I understand is ' crypt'!
Well, I know what 'currency' is. How that doesn't translate to selling body parts is beyond me.

That was a good pitch, Rev  Wink Cheers

It is when you can't see the night sky because of the light level (streetlights, shops with lights left on all night and so forth). Affects astronomers, keeps people awake when there is too much light etc.

Why do people live in big downtowns in huge cities, if they don't like all the light? If it's because that's where they're job is- oh well. Maybe your job is a part of your problem.
Plus- sure, cut all the lights at a certain time. They had a huge blackout in NYC in 1977, and folks went ape s**t and started looting.

Turn out the lights and women will complain that they don't feel safe at night. Certainly in the UK, I remember this was a common warcry in the '80s, so they put more street lighting in.

Plus bars, diners, theaters, etc- would have to shut their lights off. Who's going to go for that?

I, myself, didn't like it. I moved back to Michigan.
