On this day, 23 years ago, Snake Plisskin got kicked out of Ireland & banished to Hell's Kitchen.....

A therapist told a co-worker of mine who has well-earned PTSD to try an exercise of pretending his life began at that precise second, with no past whatsoever, merely an existence that started right then at that very instant in time.

So out of empathetic curiosity I tried that, and as a parahyperthymesiac I found it among the most difficult things to do, as well as the most dismally terrible. To have no recollection of the past is a serious defect bound to devastate something fundamental inside us that forms us as who we are, and it made me feel like I was suffocating to even do that as an exercise.

What does not kill me makes me stranger.

My ten year old son and I been doing this thing of late where every day around nine o' clock we tell each other a random fact.

Today I told him elephants only sleep twenty minutes at a time, and he told me he had a tick attached behind his ear.

Oh no!!!  How long had it been there?

I just watched an episode of 'the Apprentice' with Donald Trump.
I was looking for Gilbert Gottfried!
I didn't realize that Eric and Ivakna were on it too!
Amazing.

My workmate told me that he secretly licks his pens every day so no one else will use them.

I feel the secretly part kind of negates the no one else using them part but didn't tell him that I secretly use them to scratch my butt.

If Clark Kent was raised on a farm, wouldn't he know how to handle a shotgun & clean & gut a possum?????

If Clark Kent was raised on a farm, would have really come out a wholesome but enlightened young atheist from Smallville, or would he have come out some bible thumping hypocrite from flyover country?????

And could some goodie-two-shoes little plowboy like Clark Kent really survive in the dog eat dog world of journalism????

Who cleans and guts a possum.
A farm is not some Beverly Hillbilly cartoon kinda thing. NO farmer I ever met ate a possum.
Shot them- never ate 'em.

^they do in the south^

It's in one of the Br'er Rabbit stories before Disney cleaned them all up & made them kid friendly....
It's in the song Dixie.....

Maybe Clarke Kent would've ended up a disgruntled unskilled laborer......

^ I doubt that...he's Superman!
And anybody can operate a shotgun...not rocket science.

What I don't understand is how Lois can't recognize Clark without his glasses?

In yet another scenario, Clark Kent would need to embrace the vice, hedonism and corruption of the corporate media world....

He would need to drop the whole Superman gig because he's too busy looking out for number one, no matter how many sappy human interest stories he wrote....

His super powers would be an excellent tool for lots of hitpieces & gotcha stories.....

And it wouldn't be too long before he'd set his sights on national television in New York, because some regional rag like The Daily Planet in a podunk little town like Metropolis can't contain the talents (or the ego) of a bloodthirsty journalist with super powers!

I wonder if Batman would eat possum?
I doubt it. You know why? Because-

Considering some of the countries Bruce Wayne has visited for his training, I can imagine he's eaten bugs....
And rodents....
And rich people always have fruit lying around.... I don't know why..... I don't know if they even eat it.....
