But what the hell: I'm going to buy this box set anyway Wink

Just FYI: that website is our version of eBay and that's about US$18 for the set. Smile

Of course you have, silly boy, but all three have merit.  Each has its own version of frightening and/or grotesque.  Even the third one remains relevant and strangely, memorable.  Sounds like a good price for all three.   Thumbup

I once found an independent DVD shop with a large collection of horror, action, art and obscure movies. At the back of the shop, there was a door labeled 'Door of the Dead' or 'Discs of the Dead', with the broken remains of a number of DVD's glued to it. Funny stuff. I might even have a picture of it somewhere.

I got all of them yesterday: well worth it and considering that The Omen (1976) and Straw Dogs (1971) were banned for many years (unavailable locally) definitely worth it.  Cheers

I don't know how you missed them, but they're the original Romero classics. I don't know what that price means, though.

I also bought an Omen box set and Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs: all four of those were banned here.

I take it that South Africa has had a long history of banning movies of various types?

You take it correctly: we had the worst censorship system anywhere. The censors were faceless and had frightening powers in that they could ban anything - movies, books, magazines, etc - and not have to give a reason for it.

They even banned the book Black Beauty  Buggedout
