I don’t know if the search function isn’t working or no one really posted anything about this movie here before.  I haven’t watched many movies lately, I know I complained a few years ago about how much I couldn’t stand the whole “5 friends” formula horror movies seem to follow, where none of the 5 friends have anything in common and don’t seem to like each other or have any redeeming qualities, but I take it all back now.  I REALLY HATE this whole troubled grieving adult formula that no one asked for  - I swear almost every horror movie synopsis from the past 10 years starts with something like “After a [insert death of family member/tragedy here] Martha tries to get on with her life…”

Queens of Evil does not have 5 friends, or any grieving adults, it has 1 hippie and 3 horny women.   There’s no uncomfortable surprise sex scenes, just the natural ones that you’re prepared for.  No horrible pop music, just a really groovy hippie song that plays over and over until you start to think it’s catchy.  It was a really refreshing, fun movie and it’s free on YouTube!  If I could rename this movie, it would be Hags, Hairdos and a Hippie - There’s really nothing to give away, but if you haven’t seen it, or haven’t seen it in a while, I highly recommend it. This might be my new feel good movie of 2022.

Shame I can't get Tubi in the UK or I'd give it a watch. Going through a folk horror phase on Shudder atm.

I'm with you on both of them being horrible.

I think I run into the five friends one more often, but the "death of family member" one tends to be more annoying because it's actually trying to pretend to be deeper than it is.

But what about comfortable surprise sex scenes? Those can be fun.

Thanks for the recommendation though.  Sounds ... groovy.

Oh it's on YouTube not Tubi!  On a channel called "Now Playing".   There's some boobs in it, but they're like background boobs so you can probably watch it with Ash around.

I think the 5 friends has been going on from at least the 60's until now, but it seems to have moved over for the grieving adult on newer movies.  I honestly prefer the 5 friends now.   And I swear when I was pregnant in 2017-2018 there were a ton of pregnancy/miscarriage horror movies coming out that I wouldn't dare watch then or now.  I don't need that kind of stress.

But what about comfortable surprise sex scenes? Those can be fun.

Haha!  There's never good surprise sex scenes!  I am convinced that the only people that like those are 12 year olds and people that only watch movies alone.  This is a new thing too.  I know because when I was 12 I purposely looked for them.  I'd scour the ratings and only watch the movies that said there was nudity or strong sexual content and I'd watch the whole flipping thing no matter how droningly boring it was waiting for the spicy stuff to happen and the "naughtiest" thing I remember was in Night Terrors with Robert Englund where I think there was a scene with a naked guy riding a horse with his dong flopping around in slow motion... or maybe that's just how I remember it.

I actually have this on DVD-R. Yes. I'm the one person who actually bought it.

Since it was made in 1970, I'm assuming that the hair you were impressed by was not just the long strands on their heads?
