I remember it being just about the best feeling in life. (Though many summers in late elementary thru middle school I got sent to these horrid "intersession clinics" for gifted students, which were like intense eight-hour daily 2-3 week workshops in math and science tilI I finally got my parents to stand up to the school and quit sending me.)

Do you still have a desk top computer?
That's all I have. covered in ashtrays and pot pipes and - f**k! And a fly at the moment!
Anyway- yeah! My son uses his phone. I am the only person I know who uses a desktop. Of course I don't know a lot of people.

I much prefer a desktop to a laptop for gaming, writing, and surfing the web.   I hate the tiny keyboard on my phone - nearly every time I use it I wind up with errors that I don't make using my desktop.

Yes, I have a desktop, and I will always have one. Phones are great and useful on the go, but the tiny screens and keyboards can't do what a desktop can.

I have my desktop for regular use and my laptop for when I am travelling.

Would you say people tend to have strong reactions to you, either liking you very much or disliking you with equal vigor?

I think that's been true in my life. Take my friend Clare's parents, whom I've known for decades. Her dad seems to want to do anything for me, while I do think her mom wishes I'd die. I had an advisor in college who gave every impression of hating me from minute one for no reason I was ever able to figure out or ever able to change. Sure, plenty of people are so-so/just whatever about me but I've noticed and others have noticed I tend to inspire deep affection or even loathing when I'm not altogether sure either was merited. Strange.

Most people who meet me in person tend to like me, with very few exceptions.
Online, I get more mixed responses.

I can't believe you're one of the most smited people on this site. You also seem admirably sang-froid about people getting negative with you. Well done.

When I first joined here I could be very argumentative.  It was in the middle of the Iraq War and my defense of GWB really angered some people here.
I've mellowed over the years, and they've gotten used to me.

People who don't know me well find me a little strange and intimidating - I've also been told that I have a way of looking at people which makes them a little uncomfortable. Children and young peeps tend to disagree and almost all agree that I am pretty fly foran old guy 😊😊😊🐢

I've only had one romantic relationship in my life, and we've never cheated on each other.
