What thing from the history of the planet would you most like to have seen?

There are a lot of historical events I'd love to witness, but for whatever reason, the one I'd love to have seen comes from pre-history. The opening of the Strait of Gibraltar and the subsequent flooding of the Mediterranean basin. Seeing the sheer elemental force of all that water crashing through must have been quite a magnificent and terrifying spectacle, the water rushing in at 100 kilometres per hour. Of course, just trying to find a safe place to stand and watch it would be difficult, not to mention the sheer noise must have been deafening.

That's a real toughie . . . I'd love to see Julius Caesar in action on the battlefield; I consider him the greatest general of all time.  The siege of Alesia . . . if Caesar is to be believed (and while some are quick to reject his account, you have to consider he had several legates who were connected to his political rivals and would have called him out if he'd stretched the truth too much), he took on over a quarter million Gauls with only 60,000 Legionaries under his command - and won!
That would have been something to behold.

There are other moments, but I've been reading Roman history of late, and that one came to mind.

In terms of nature, obviously I'd like to see the dinosaurs or other now extinct fauna.   

In terms of historical significance,  I'd choose the Battle of Vienna and the ride of the Winged Hussars.  Its the largest cavalry ride in history.  It be cool to see them in their full armor riding down the hill.

In terms of getting proper answers-I' go to any one of the famous cryptid sightings like the Paterson filming, or the Roswell crash, just to see what really happened.

In African terms, the battles such as the Battle of Rorke's Drift and the battle of the Shangani River, both relevant personally.

Internationally: I would have liked to have been in Berlin when the wall came down in 1989.

Wudang and Shaolin Temples in China go way back. I've always wondered what it was like say a thousand years ago. Probably similar to today in most ways so maybe I'll choose something else eventually

There are many things from history I'd like to see but the one that comes to mind as most useful is being outside the tomb of Jesus on the morning of his resurrection. If I saw it happen it'd be a total validation for my existing  belief that the event took place as claimed. If I was there and saw that it did not happen, wham, instant license to cast aside religion and resume the  unfettered hedonism of my youth.
