It's almost 11:15pm here and I don't see myself getting much sleep tonight. I still don't know if I've done the right thing. 🤔

You have.  Try to see it as the beginning of a new phase in your life.   Yes, you will be dedicating your attentions to your dear mum,  but there will be so much more.  The possibilities ahead of you have opened up!  I, for one, look forward to hearing about your future endeavors.  You're young enough yet.

Having seen your posts about your job over a number of years, I've noticed you get slowly more and more disenchanted (more with the people you work with than the job itself I believe). If you stay, I don't think that is going to change. It is just going to wear and grind you down more and more, eventually leaving you miserable and sucking any joy out of things. I think you have done the right thing, getting out now while you still have some love for your job and will be able to look back with fond memories.

It isn't an ending. Just the start of a new chapter. I hope you find more satisfaction from life going forward. Nothing any of us does is guaranteed to bring happiness, but at least you have a chance at finding something that will appreciate you more and reward your talents more than where you currently are.

Thanks Brother Alex

Trevor, I've also gotten the vibe from your posts over the past few years that you weren't enjoying your job anymore. If that's the case, then you did the right thing.

Thanks for that: I'm still able to do my job - I flew to Cape Town last month with a 35mm print for a client and enjoyed it - but it's all the political nonsense and personal sidelining I've been through for too long a time which is making me old.

Feeling slightly jealous. Still got months to do. Enjoy it my friend.
