My last working week starts tomorrow

In a way yes, but my actions in submitting my retirement papers are only starting to hit me now.

What you are going through is a perfectly normal reaction mate. Just like with any major change you'll go through a whole cycle of emotions. Sometimes you'll move forward, sometimes you'll go back a bit. The diagram below pretty much lists the stages people go through.



There is nothing wrong with worrying about the future, but keep moving forward and find something that not only do you want to do, but you'll be happy doing.

I really do hope you start feeling better about your situation.  Here are some things to consider:

•   You can stay up as long as you want and sleep as late as you want every day
•   You can poop in peace every day of the week any time of day
•   You can have cookie dough for breakfast and if it gives you diarrhea, see above
•   You don't even have to change your clothes every day
•   Or your underpants
•   You can change your hair dramatically and if it doesn't look good at first you can hide at home until it does
•   You can crack mysterious ciphers
•   You can go places in the middle of the week when other people are working and enjoy them more because they're not as crowded – no lines!
•   You can win arguments on the internet because you have more time than everyone else to argue
•   You never have to deal with rude or inconsiderate co-workers or customers
•   You can search for hidden treasure
•   You can hide the treasure again somewhere else
•   And more!

If you get lost for something to do, maybe you should try joining in on one of our D&D nights, or find a local club. Or, take up some other hobby, just something that gets you out there, meeting people and hopefully having a bit of fun along the way.

Thanks for asking: it isn't going well, I'm nervous and jumpy most of the time and aside from all of you on here, I have no one to talk to. 😔😔
