I am currently running a game set in a haunted house. It does have a few occasional physical traps, but mostly the threats to the group are of a more psychological nature. After doing 30 or so rooms I've kind of ran dry on things the group can encounter. Does anyone have any suggestions of things I can add? The nature of the adventure is a huge, gothic house seemingly constructed at random.

I was in a haunted house once where they cut out the lights for a minute or so...
I tried to feel my way along the walls, & stuck my hand into a drawer full of slime...

I will fly over and stand in the dark 😳😳😉
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

Spike traps.  Maggots.  Collapsing walls/ceilings.  Bladed pendulums.  Hallways that suddenly go on longer than they should as someone is walking through them.  Doors that open into bottomless pits.

1. Malevolently-insane-adult-minds-in-the-bodies-of-toddling-babies. Stuff of nightmares.

2. Ravenous freak show fat woman's torso sewn onto back half of giant oozing slug.

3. Amnesia-cum-paranoia. Party loses all remembrance of self or companions resulting in  distrust and turning on one another.

4. Constant nearly sub-audible whispers with occasional words people catch being disturbing. Perhaps voices of dead family in torment.

5. Party is overcome with insatiable thirst.

6. Ghastly episodes involving sleep paralysis.

7. False exit to outside world leading to increasingly grim scenarios.

8. Encounters with beloved childhood pets being used in unwholesome medical experiments.

9. Go Poe on them.

10. Grotesque female giant shoves people up into her womb while cooing, "Baby...."

11. Worms which may or may not exist, crawling around inside party's eyes.

12. Reliving painful childhood traumas.

13. Plant idea they've already died in house, and are now in Hell.

14. Sense of constantly being followed.

15. Cloyingly pleasant smell entices people to seek out the source, to their increasing torment, yet they never find it.

16. S&M scenarios.

17. Brain fever.

18. A tiny section of floor in which one feels so safe he cannot bear to leave it, even as he grows hungry and thirsty and so very tired from standing in that one place.

19. Spiders dropping from ceiling.

20. Embarrassing attractions to other party members.
