Okay he was arrested for something resembling child porn possession which he dismissed as kitsch art or something...
I'm sure I've seen him interviewed about this and he said it was some kind raid on his house and they found some kind of sculpture? the charge was dropped anyway....does seem like the authorities had it in for him
not to tempt fate but I feel confident in saying there will be no emergence of accusations and nasty revelations following hs death.
I've read a bit about it. He had A LOT of vintage nude photographs and pornographic
magazines and cheesecake type stuff. Like thousands and thousands, a huge collection he bought in bulk. A small portion of these were were of probably underage models (the ages aren't clear, they don't even know the names of the models evidently). There's some dispute about what exactly the content of these was like; Reubens contends they weren't pornographic, the DA argues otherwise.
However, they let him plea down to a total sweetheart deal, a slap on the wrist, no time, no lifetime sex offender registry, etc - which makes me lean towards believing Reubens' side of things. At a minimum, there wasn't very much of it compared to the total size of his collection, which suggests to me he wasn't actively seeking it out - so that may have played a part in the leniency.
