Finally got back to my little VHS watch-a-thon and pulled out this movie, toward which I once lacked warmth but which impressed me a lot more this time around. (To be honest when I first saw it I associated Guy Pearce so strongly with LA Confidential, one of my favorite movies, that it annoyed me to see him playing an entirely different kind of character in there. Not saying that's right, just that was how something in me reacted.)  It'd been so long since I saw Memento that it was like seeing it for the first time, and to go through the looking glass of a plot so twisted and impressively creative was a pleasure. A near-great movie, a warped classic, as frustrating and captivating as it is maddening and sad. I'd give it an A-.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Gabriel Knight

One of my favorite movies of all times. An absolute lecture on narrative, simply amazing.

I can only ever see guy pierce as mike from neighbours

I think margot robbie and alan dale are the only other actors from that show to make some kind of impact in hollywood

film. pretty cool. good idea well executed. have had no desire to rewatch it though

You mean you don't rate Kylie Minogue's turn in Street Fighter as Oscar-worthy?  :bouncegiggle:

I was lucky enough to manage an arthouse movie theatre back in '01 that played MEMENTO for six full months. That allowed me the opportunity to watch it at least six times during that run, and I've watched it easily another dozen to fifteen times since, mostly w/ classes. I'm confident in saying that if one has seen MEMENTO once, one has barely seen MEMENTO. Top 5 of all time.

forgot about her lol

yeah the ex- neighbours guys seemed to take the pop star route more than the acting route. which probably makes sense if you watched the show :)
