Long after World War 3, military technology and women's lib have been set back a few hundred years....
A pair of scantily clad women on horseback run into some raiders.... The pair kick the men's butts, but one gets pinned down, so she shoots lasers out of her eyes to start a rock slide... Afterwards, the other one reveals psychic healing power....
Meanwhile, in a nearby village, a young woman tries to warn everyone about a coming raider attack that her pet falcon told her about....
The raiders are sent to the village, this time with cars & guns, to collect some parts for his tank.... The girl escapes, but her brother dies...
The girl, the raiders & the psychic warrior girls end up at the same inn, where the psychics rescue the girl & cause the raiders to start a fight amongst each other.... But, the next day, the raiders kidnap one of the psychics, so the other two hafta get her back....
After running from some predictable mutants, the pair find a fallout shelter with some guns & a tank....

Predictably preachy & exploitive, but doesn't spend too much time dwelling on either....
Fun little sword & sorcery post apocalyptic action movie....

GHOSTQUAKE (2011)

Weird made-for-tv teeny magic non-horror horror movie starring Danny Trejo as a school janitor.

gave me flashbacks to THE DEMON HEADMASTER, crossed with what I'd imagine HARRY POTTER to be like if I'd ever seen that.

the artwork totally mis-sells it

......it's crawling girl again :buggedout:

(where is that thread?)

Incidentally, how are we still doing the parenthetical credits thing on posters/blu-ray covers/et al after all these years? There are countless nominally "famous" people I have never heard of and could use a reminder or primer on....... but even I've heard of Charisma Carpenter, and Danmy Trejo's a living legend.  :bouncegiggle:     Who are those for???

I cannot remember which Sly Stallone movie it was that I picked up, but on the dvd case he was billed like this:

"SYLVESTER STALLONE (SPY KIDS 3D)"

oh right, that guy...

I watched Female Vampire aka Bare Breasted Countess aka Erotikill aka like four or five other different titles, in various stages ranging from almost pure horror movie to almost pure porn.

I watched the one in the middle ground.

Jesse Franco is an acquired taste.  Sometimes he's good, sometimes... less so.

This movie is about a mute vampire woman, played by Lina Romay.  If you take the number of scenes where she's actually wearing something that covers her ... you'd still probabaly say "That doesn't count because you can see right through it."  yeah, she spends the movie mostly naked.

As a vampire, she doesn't just suck blood.  She sucks... let's say sexual fluids and life energy.  Meaning the people she has sex with die.  There's a Van Helsing like character trying to track her down.  That's about it for the plot.  It doesn't really even have an ending.

The movie is low on energy, has a soft focus and dim lighting, very little dialogue, almost no plot, and frequently plays a background tune that sounds kind of like a sad lullaby.  As far as mood goes, it does feel kind of dream-like and artistic.

This is a movie I wanted to like going in, but I honestly had a hard time finishing it.  I just kept wanting to go to sleep.

^^ yeah I'd agree with this take...

I remember it also has the most blatant example of 'blinking corpse' I've ever seen in a movie (not sure if you caught that bit as well)

it's like the actress is giving off "bah, when will this scene be over, I have places to go" vibes... as a corpse  :bouncegiggle:
