Quote from: Rev. Powell on October 31, 2024, 08:26:46 AMThe top 10 is pretty good. Thanks everyone! I think I'll try to compile another list like this with "bad movies" on it.

I've seen worse lists, for sure! The top 2 are hard to argue w/ in any case.

RC, was your list ranked by points? When I saw you had RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD @ #3 I though it would be a lock for the final list...

THE MUTILATOR was a surprise for me. Never seen it. Guess I should check it out!

^ Was it ranked by points? I- I guess so. I ranked it lower than some...I dunno...
(As far as the MUTILATOR- I don't know who voted for that piece of s**t, but one man's poison, I guess...)

The complete spreadsheet I used is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1e4IRWXUA8dNhIqGz0yZdigAgB5rTbXrx0BvWESbxElg/edit?gid=0#gid=0

You can see things like how many people voted for a particular movie. (My excuse for not voting for THE THING: I've never seen it. But enough other people gave it a lot of points that it still ended up #1, which is why getting lots of votes is important!)
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

^ You've never seen the THING?  :buggedout:
You really need to. It's so much better than the average remake. As far as remakes go- it's right up their with INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1978).

Ehh, I'm sure Rev will get around to it one day. There are so many canonical films I've never seen that........ it makes me want to not participate in "Greatest" movie lists! But I held my nose and still participated in this one, and I'm glad I did.

Anyway, THE THING is one of those rare classics, like THE GODFATHER, that deserves all its hype. I think ALIEN pretty much fills that bill, too.

BODY SNATCHERS '78... perennially underrated! I'm glad it got a spot on this list.

Sorry I missed out on contributing to this one.  I've been a touch distracted lately.
