Apparently Apartment 7A (2024) is a prequel to the original Rosemary's Baby.

Is it October yet?

thanks for the corrections people. lists amended

I'll leave BAD LIEUTENANT in for the moment... like I said in the original post, things are gonna get ambiguous. to me it doesn't matter if there's no real connection between the films, long as they are 'considered' to be sequels. (look at TROLL / TROLL 2)... although BL: PORT OF CALL is an anomaly for sure

honestly this is why I've become so disillusioned with movies in the last 15 years or so... this just looks and feels like everything else

Quote from: claws on December 22, 2024, 10:03:43 PMThe only connection both movies have is the same producer according to wiki.

QuoteThough the film's title and story loosely resemble that of Abel Ferrara's 1992 film Bad Lieutenant, according to Herzog, it is neither a sequel nor a remake; its only commonality is a corrupt policeman as the central character. Nonetheless, the director of the original Bad Lieutenant film, Abel Ferrara, expressed dismay that the Herzog film was being made. Both Bad Lieutenant films were produced by Edward R. Pressman.

IMDb lists a "connection" between both movies without explaining why they are connected.

It's almost like NEW ORLEANS is a reboot, or reimagining. Definitely not a sequel.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

ah okay let's scratch that one then... getting too problematic

here we go, from wiki:

Quoteaccording to Herzog, it is neither a sequel nor a remake

QuoteFerrara was quoted as saying "As far as remakes go, ... I wish these people die in Hell. I hope they're all in the same streetcar, and it blows up."[16] When asked later for his response to Ferrara's statements, Herzog stated that he does not know who Ferrara is, saying "I've never seen a film by him. I have no idea who he is."

whaaa :bouncegiggle:

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023) is a prequel.

heh, I had a toss-up between watching either that or EXORCIST: BELIEVER last night... chose E:B, (and I'm hoping that was the wrong choice)

had a quick look and the record appears to be the 64 year gap between BAMBI (1942) and BAMBI 2 (2006)... which also qualifies for this thread.

...at least until this is released:
