These are the top 10 Worst songs of the 1980s according to Rolling Stone Readers.

Fun fact: Grace Slick didn't like We Built This City much either.
Is it October yet?

It was a toss between #3 and #7, ended up voting for #7. Doesn't mean #3 is the better song.

Replace Taco with Charlene - I've Never Been to Me (1982) and I kind of would approve this list.

I voted WHAM, but they really all suck.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

All of them.are annoying to varying degrees, but I've gone with Lady In Red, because unlike any other song on the list, it drags. so badly...

that Wham! track, despite being way too damn happy and upbeat for its own good, is a legitimately well written pop song. imo

chainsaw midget

Rolling Stone Readers obviously have no taste.  Those are all great songs.

I think 'worst' can often just mean 'overplayed to the point of inducing contempt' in lists like this.

many worse songs of the 80s surely exist, but are probably largely unknown

I went with the Lady In Red...

Rock Me Amadeos depends on which version you listen to.... I always found that American DJ remix pretty corny, but I did like the original one (That actually features Falco singing) like they had in the music video okay... I was always disappointed that I couldn't find the original in record stores.....

The only bad song on this list is Lady in Red.

The rest are on all my playlists.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

I'm kinda surprised Funky Town by Pseudo Echo didn't make the list, or that group that sounded a lot like them with that really lame disco cover of You Aint Seen Nothin Yet.....

For me it would be "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by The Police. They played it to death on the local video channel and it was so slow and boring.

I was able to tolerate this one way better than Every Breath You Take, which I not only hated the first time I heard it, but spent way too long at #1 on the charts...
Then to grow up realizing it had this REALLY CREEPY stalker vibe!!!

Sting eventually realized how creepy that song is, & is a bit ashamed of it now.

Most of the songs on the list are nice, upbeat songs I enjoy hearing.

The Lady in Red is slow, but it's been such a long time since I heard it, I can't say its bad. And, even if it is slow, sometimes you need a slow song to relax.

Rock Me Amadeus is the only one I didn't like on that list.

"Wrapped Around Your Finger" by the Police was my least favorite. The local video station played it constantly too.

edit: "Just A Gigalo" for the same reason
