The Japanese make up FX artist (born Jojo Tani) has passed away at the age of 69.

I'm only familiar, I believe, with his work on the movie Freaked.

I'm not sure I've seen other works.

I'd wager you've seen other stuff he did that wasn't like primarily him, but he worked on - like Big Trouble in Little China (the inflating guy is his, and in his signature style, you can really see it in the face, plus the little flying head Beholder guy he did too), Predator, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and 4. 

He also directed and did creature work on the live action Guyver film, which I feel like everyone our age has seen on cable or on regular TV in the 90s.  Man that film was on TV all the time for some reason, probably saw it a half dozen times.

Society is maybe his most impressive work, that climax is a real doozy.  Guy was a make-up genius.

Ah. I did see Big Trouble in Little China and the Nightmare films. Didn't see Predator though.
