I know availability its an issue in order to review some flicks, but there are awesome mexican badmovies that can be split in two categories:  horror and action. From the 50's to the 90's you can find very good movies from wrestlers versus mummies to martian invasion. Really guys, I'd like to share all the treasures that we have, but some movies are very rare even for us here in Mexico. In the future maybe I could send you a samples of the mexican filmcrap industry

I LOVE the Mexican movie "Santa Claus," in which Santa is in direct competition with Satan, and lives on a cloud in outer space with Merlin and hundreds of child laborers. I make a point of watching the MST3K'd version every Christmas season... Does anyone know if the uncut version is available north of the border?

DVDs of a lot of the Mexican flicks can be had for very cheap on EBay.  I've gotten THE BRAINIAC, CURSE OF THE DOLL PEOPLE, and NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES all for around $5-$7 each.  I highly recommend all of them!

I believe there a some flicks featuring Chabelo, which is a famous tv character.  Chabelo has a tv show called "En Familia con Chabelo" which has been a hit in Mexico.  Some of his titles include "Chabelo contra los monstruos" (featuring Pepito) and "La criada bien criada".

Would he be the guy in the red tights with wire antennae on his head? I used to see that guy while flipping channels and always wondered what that show was about.

The LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD MOVIES are priceless works of bad movie art.
God Bless K. Gordon Murray!

Something Weird DVD now is promoting the K. Gordon Murray Collection. Many Mexican movies are great entertainment as I have a few. I picked up "Swamp of the Lost Monsters" (in color) at the Chiller Theatre convention a few weeks ago.

Other favs are:
The Man & The Monster
Neutron VS The Death Robots
The Brainiac
Doctor of Doom & Night of the Bloody Apes

The guy in the red tights with wire antennae on his head that you're refering to is the famous mexican anti-hero El Chapulin Colorado (The Red Hopper) and was created and played by Chespirito, a famous mexican writer/comician ( at least in latinamerica...). He made up some great badmovies but his main work was Chespirito, a comedy/series tv program where he presented his whole pletora of characters, among these were: Los Chifladitos(the nutty guys), El chompiras, el chapulin Colorado, los caquitos(the burglars) and many others.

This comedy show was recently  shutted down because of the low ratings... and the fact that Roberto Gomes Bola~os (Chespirito) was too damn old.. If any of you are interested to know some details or extra info on this kind of issues, just drop me a line..

The victims:" Quien podra defendernos??!!.." (Who can defend us??!!
The Red Hopper: " Yo!!! ( Me!!!! )
The victims: "El Chapulin Colorado!!!! ." (The red Hopper!!!)

The above lines represents the intro or the part when the Red Hopper arrives at the rescue....

This multi-talented character also played a very famous and loved character called "El chavo del Ocho"  and in some instances he was featured as the main character in flicks such as "El chanfle", and even a comedy called "Once y Doce".  For all of you that are wondering what this guy looks like, I have provided this link for you to copy and paste.  Enjoy it and let me know how it turns out.

You people are making my mouth water.

I seen THE ROBOT vs THE AZTEC MUMMY.  The scientist screaming is the best ever. It almost makes the film worth the $2.99 that I paid for it. Mexico has special talent that would make Ed Wood take notice. I wish I could see all those mentioned above.

......and , what can you tell us about the mexican James Bond, called Alex Dinamo.
i dont know what was the name of that movie, but i like it .....i thing the actor who plays Alex Dinamo is Julio Aleman.

And let's not forget the Rafael Buendia movies, these flicks are so unbelievable, I mean they're so bad that I cannot believe my eyes when I watch them.  In all his movies this guy brings along his family which are Perlita Buendia (daughter) and the mother and also sometimes the grandmother.  I simply cannot describe how these people look, you guys gotta see them.  Some of his movies include parodies about a construction worker that lives with his family at the construction site and steals the concrete from the site and also one that somebody is trying to kill him with trained scorpions (a must see).

In the meanwhile, check out this link where they sell the Rafael Buendia movies:

If you want to see Mexican cinema at it's wildist, then you must get a hold of the DVD release of Image Entertainment/Something Weird Video's NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES.

Most versions that have come up of this film are bad 16mm and 35mm prints, all from horrid bootleggers. But, Something Weird Video has unearthed the original 35mm NEGATIVE of the U.S. version. So expect the red blood to be redder and the color looking better than ever. The transfer qulaity is on par with Something Weird's release of STING OF DEATH (1966), also from a 35mm negative.

Whatever you do, get the Something Weird DVD release of NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES. The quality is perfect.
