I've heard so much about this movie (jason alexander being in it, the awesome raft scene, and so much more) and at the local used crap store where they carry alot of old items I found a huge load of BETA tapes one of which being THE BURNING! I felt like buying it right there even though I don't have a beta player. They also had KING FRAT (awful awful movie, but I'd like to own it :P ), some movie called DRIVE IN MASSACRE, Buckaroo Banzai (I really wanna see this one) and s bunch more that looked like tasty finds. Should I rush back there and buy them and then look for someone I know who has a beta player? or just leave them alone?

thanks.

Does ANYONE have a Betamax anymore?

You can get a VHS of "The Burning" for eight bucks; reviews suggest this is the uncut version, to boot--although I haven't seen it and therefore can't say for sure...

"Drive-In Massacre" is so utterly reviled by bad-movie and regular movie fans alike that I can't imagine buying it outside of an eBay package deal...

You haven't seen "Buckaroo Banzai" yet? Yikes! Go! Do!

Director Stu Segall has an interesting history you can check out from the IMDB link. He's done a lot of telly junk, and produced Marilyn Chambers' most well-known porn epics under a psuedonym around the same time he put "DIM" together.

The Burning is one of the better Friday the 13th ripoffs. I watched it again on one of the pay channels a few months ago.

Now if only they'd rerun some of the other 80's slasher/deformed killer movies...
