After watching the tremors movie which combined puppets and CGI or the Star Wars remake. Which do think makes a better monster puppets or computer images

It depends I guess...  In Tremors they used puppets and you could tell it was hokey.  It was fun.  But then in the sequels they tried to use CGI and didn't do a very good job with the editing.  You can tell they tried but didn't quite make it so it's not just fun anymore.  They were better off using puppets.  It was a stupid 80's movie with a stupid plot.  It was ment to be stupid.  A movie that comes up with names like Graboids and Assblasters is supposed to be hokey.

Then you have a movie like Star Wars where they actually tried to make it look good.  They didn't have much technology in the first 3 so it was mostly just people in rubber masks & puppets.  For its day that was cutting edge.  So when CGI rolled around they were able to do a lot more.  It's a good movie where the use of puppets with the technology is now available would have been a disgrace to the Star Wars story.  In this case CGI was very appropriate.

As much as I dislike George Lucas, I must admit, his special effects were amazing first time and redone. That doesnt include the sequals though where just the pod racing is cool.

Tremors was fun and was more than good for the type of movie tyey were making.

So there is my brief answer to your query.

I despise computer graphics as special effects with a passion.  It's okay if it's absolutely necessary and pulled off well, IE Spider Man or Jurassic Park.  I'd have to say that the most seamless CGI I've ever seen was in Gamera 3: Incomplete Struggle.  You know some of those shots had to have been done with CGI, for instance the battle in the clouds and the opening fight with Gyaos, but it's done so damn well that it looks absolutely real.  The only fakey bit of CG in the movie is when the young Iris grows its wings in the woods.
As for Tremors, I love all three of them, and much like LEXX, I can forgive some crappy CGI if there's imagination and soul put into the project, and Tremors and LEXX both definitely have that.  As a sidenote, does anyone know if they're going to keep making LEXX episodes, or are the four existing seasons all we get?

>does anyone know if they're going to keep making LEXX episodes,

Lexx was officially cancelled a while back. The last episode with Stan and Zev flying off in the baby Lexx was the end.

i think the CGI is better than puppets if you actually know how to do it right...just  an opinion
