i was just checking out the IMDB bottom 100, which seems to change quite a bit. not long ago "food of the gods II" was number 60 and now it's not even on the list.

anyway, i was thinking about movies that aren't quite bad enough to justify being placed on this list. two that come to mind are:

#10......"Leonard Pt. 6" - yeah, a bad movie. but number 10 on the bottom 100? it was weird enough to be semi-enjoyable at least...

#16......."It's Pat" - i like this movie. it's a dark comedy if you think about it. sorta along the lines of jim carey's "cable guy." the androgenous Pat (from the SNL skits) is stalked by his/her next door neighbor who is obsessed with finding out Pat's sexual orientation. he even talks to a PAT PUPPET! i feel this is an underappreciated movie...plus it has pat playing the tuba with Ween!!!

i'm sure there are other movies you guys feel have been wrongly banished to the IMDB bottom 100. check the list out at the address below:

I don't like the fact that the IMDB has changed the minimum vote amount required to show up in the list from 50 to 625... that means we're likely to see more just "blah" movies in the bottom 100 (like Speed 2 or Robocop 3) than independent or little-known obscure old movies. The "old" IMDB-bottom-100-list was sort of a shopping list to me, this new format just is boring (man, you're in the bottom 100 with a 3.7 rating... that's maybe a dull movie, but not one of the worst).

(But I still strongly oppose Space Mutiny being no. 3 on the list - for me it's the best comedy I've ever seen - and I still think Halloween 3 is a decent horror movie).

The bottom feeders list is also biased in two big ways -

1) Word of (bad) mouth - forces some pictures on to it, even if they aren't so bad that they deserve to be there. I snicker any time the conversation turns to bad movies and somebody uses the psuedo-opinion that Plan 9 is the worst movie ever made. Then I usually corner them with any of a number of films that make Plan 9 look like Shawshank Redeption.

2) Bad Movie is subjective. A movie that is techincally bad may provide such a good laugh, that it's really not "bad". Mitchell, without or without the MST3K treatment, makes me laugh harder than tepid comedy like The Santa Clause. So, which is really the bad movie?

The IMDB bottom 100 fluctuates a lot. Some films that should be on the bottom 100 aren't there, like DON'T GO IN THE WOODS or BOOGEYMAN 2. The problem is that not enough people have seen those "movies" or bothered to rate them. And PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE should always be in the top 10, imo. But then it's always nice to see something recent like KANGAROO JACK in the bottom 100. LOL!

But the way people rate movies at IMDB is very unreliable or suspect.

I refuse to trust a list of the 100 worst movies where Wes Craven's Carnival OF Souls, The Fear , and Grim are left out but movies such as Child's PLay are on it.   Also I find it suspect that FReddy Got Fingered is better than Friday 13th parts 8 and 5.  Thats just my opinion but hey

Well that was fun...in a f****in' sick, terrible, not at all fun kinda way.

Creepozoid

Actually GRIM is on the list and DON'T GO IN THE WOODS was at one time. I strongly object to MURDERCYCLE being on the list. I thought that was great.

Brother Ragnarok

The IMDB Bottom 100 can lick me.  It seems like all they did was make a list of 100 movies that have appeared on MST3K.  Some of those movies are a lot of fun to watch.

MST3K did Glitter?  Poor robots

And Barb Wire isn't great, but it isn't anyworse than most post-apocalyptic Casablanca flicks. Pamela Anderson was more of a credible actress in that than Monique Gabrielle in Deathstalker II.

Note to Hollywood:32 of the films are sequels!  Plus another 6 or so are based on tv shows (Only one is an SNL flick?  Far too few).  And I don't think they made money.  Originality is profitable!

The list is much better than it used to be.  It used to be a bunch of undeserving films that got boosted by rabid MST3K fans who had never actually seen the films un-MSTed.  Even though the current list is a little more focused on recent films, at least it has a little more variety.  It's also based on actual viewer opinions, not just people who voted basedon MST3K saying movies were bad.  I mean, Manos is bad, but there are worse...

Susan

Poltergeist III wasn't that bad. I can think of worse.

I'm actually suprised Plan 9 from Outer Space is on the list. It's notorious for being a B movie but I thought more people liked it for the fact it was so bad and would have ranked it higher. There is a sad lacking of really bad films of the 70's on this list. Probably so bad not enough people saw them to rank them. Therein lies a flaw

Can't believe "We were soldiers" doesn't appear... After all, it is a "historic" movie that sort of clames the Vietnam war was the result of a misunderstanding, and where actions we are told happen at "6:00 AM" are shot in broad daylight.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

BoyScoutKevin

"Santa Clause Conquerors the Martians" is quite delightful in a "bad" movie sense and probably doesn't belong on the IMDB Botton

I don't mind Backyard Dogs being in the top 10.
